What do I need to do to legally change my last name after we are married?

After completion of the ceremony, we will sign the marriage license. We will then return your marriage license to the Probate Court. The Probate Court will then certify the document and record the marriage. Your marriage certificate will be available for order from the Probate Court after about 5 business days. There is a $2 fee for your marriage certificate. You will need original copies of this document for changing your name on driver's license, credit cards, bank accounts, etc. Following your ceremony, we'll send you a detailed email describing the steps in the order that makes the name change process easiest.

How long is the ceremony?

Once we have worked with you to create or customize your ceremony, we will be able to give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of time, however, usually a ceremony lasts between 10-20 minutes.

I am currently out of state or too far to meet with you before the wedding. Can I still book your services?

Yes, you may always book our services no matter where you are if we have the date available. If we cannot meet in person, we will do a full consultation meeting with you via telephone or Skype and we will discuss all aspects of the ceremony.

What's the difference between a marriage license and a marriage certificate? The marriage license is obtained from the Probate Court and must be obtained before your wedding.
